TPS2121: Glitch on Switching from Primary to Secondary Power Supply using TPS2121

Part Number: TPS2121

We are using TPS2121 (Power Mux with Seamless Switching) for Power multiplexing two input power sources in Primary and Secondary sources combination.

There is a glitch during transition from primary input source to secondary input source while inserting back the primary source, the transition is seamless. As result of which when switching from primary to secondary input source the circuit goes in reboot.

Input sources are battery of 7.4V each and load current is around 1.2A.

Voltage at PR1 is 1.81V and at CP2 is 1.211.

Kindly suggest the solution to remove the glitch and provide seamless switching from primary to secondary and vice-versa.

  • Hi Abhijit,

How much input and output capacitance do you have? Can you take a waveform of the glitch so that the switchover and time before the output gets back to its full value are included in the whole frame, and include IN1, IN2, OUT, and ST?

    Thanks,

    Patrick
