LM5060: Preventing both inrush current and Reverse Polarity with LM5060

Hi team,

I know that LM5060 can used in controlling inrush current and reverse polarity protection, can one device achieve these to functions simultaneously? Do we have the ref design?

Hi Xiaoying,

Please refer Figure 41 in the data sheet for reverse polarity protection configuration. You need to add capacitor at MOSFET GATE to ground for inrush current control.

I recommend LM74502-Q1 as it simplifies the circuit with integrated reverse polarity protection

As the design is with 12V input voltage, 200A input current and 2200W power, considering the power rating, which one will you recommend, LM74502 or LM5060?

Hi Xiaoying,

200A design would require driving parallel MOSFETs. In that case, TPS1211-Q1 would be the right fit.

Thanks for your suggestion, customer thinks LM5060 is more simple to use and notices that we have a demo for 2000W/140A, can you help evaluate that using LM5060, can we achieve around 200A?
