BQ25620EVM: PMID and GND

Part Number: BQ25620EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25620

Hi

We are testing BQ25620 which is very capable IC. However, we have couple of questions:

1-What is VPB (seems for connecting power bank)? Why its connected to PMID and not normal VIN? The concept is not clear as there is complex circuitry for VPB?

2-in the datasheet for typical application PMID is not used, only two decoupling caps while in EVM its populated differently?

3-in the datasheet, GND is shared across the VIN, SYS and BAT. However, in the EVM its separated? For custom design, what should we go with? AGND, PGND? or as the datasheet?
