LP8863-Q1: Vovpl and Vovph thresholds purpose

Hi Team,

on customer behalf I have a question about the purpose of Vovpl and Vovph thresholds of LP8863.

What is the reason to have two additional thresholds for the FB pin ? Is it to protect against some input voltage transients ?

Could you please describe against what event these two will be helpful ?

For OVPL, you may see some spike during the voltage changed, for example, during the startup. And it just a warning, no special action from the device for this fault, only turn off the GD.

For OVPH, it is a real problem which means that device may see the problem, device will do the action to avoid unexpected destroy.

For the OVPH event, during our test, we may add a high voltage on FB pin to check the action.

In the real application, if the loop is not stable, it may lead a OVPH fault.
