Hello,
Thank you for reaching out via E2E. 3.3V to 4.0V is in the potential range for VSYS regulation. Allow me to provide some additional explanation of SYS pin regulation below.
-The SYS pin output will always be regulated above the SYS_MIN threshold (default 3.5V, set in REG03) when input adapter is connected. Although, please be aware when no input supply is connected SYS will be a voltage below battery.
-When battery voltage rises above SYS_MIN threshold during charge VSYS voltage will also rise. This may be an issue if GSM module cannot accept a voltage above 4V, but your battery is charged to 4.2V. When battery is fully charged VSYS will be regulated above 4.2V. Further details on SYS_MIN operation can be found in section 8.2.6.1 on page 19 of the datasheet.
-The BQ25895 is rated for up to 5A output current and current draw may be further limited depending on the current rating of your input supply. This 5A maximum is shared between battery charging and SYS load.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions regarding BQ25895.
Best Regards,
Garrett
