LM5148: VCC and VDDA LDO operation

Part Number: LM5148

Hello,

The LM5148 datasheet specifies that both VCC and VDDA can be used as LDO in the system, and that VCC is connected to PGND while VDDA is connected to AGND.

Can either VCC or VDDA supplies be used used to power other portions of the system?

Is there a minimum amount of current specification for VDDA?

In our system we want to power an opamp and don't want to inject any noise that may be on VCC from the PWM output.

Thank you, Keith

  • Hello Keith,

Definitely not advised for the VDDA supply.  You may have room to spare with the VCC supply but will depend on the Qg total of the top and bottom MOSFET.  I would be conservative when using the VCC supply for other supplies in the system.

    Hope this helps,

    David.
