TPS62130: USB modem design for GSM module

Part Number: TPS62130
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS5432, TPS62903

Hi,

is their any application note/ reference design for "USB modem design for GSM module" using TPS62130/ TPS5432

need more info. about

1. transient response on fast changing load

2. drop out voltage?

3. junction temperature with reference to heatsink/copper thickness & pad size

Regards,

  • Hi Sir,I

    I don't find such a APP note about TPS62130/TPS5432.

But we have interest on doing some research in future.

Could you show me a block diagram about this application and more information, spec and  performance?

    Thanks

    Colin

  • Hi Colin,

    It's surprising,

Can you suggest best appropriate switching buck regulator to power up the 4G/5G LTE modem, which should have small package (not BGA) with low drop out voltage

Input DC voltage 3.5V to 6V

    Output DC voltage 3.8V

Output current 3A continuous (expected device current continuous = less than 100mA)

Drop out voltage less than 300mV at peak current

expected peak current 2A with the burst of 577uS with interval of 4.61ms

    should have good thermal handling

also , if you could suggest the Li-ion/PO single cell battery charges, with capacity of max current =1A, but settable to 500mA for USB based application

hope , this may give more clarity

    Regards

  • Hello Sir,

TPS62903 would be my suggestion for your application.

    Thanks

    Colin

  • thanks colin,

& what would be your suggestion for battery charger IC?

  • Hello AG,

Charger IC don't belong to my product line.

You may need to ask other question.

    Thanks

    Colin
