Hi Sir,

May I know how BQ27Z746 performs pre-charge operation? 

I can find pre-charge start voltage in the Technical Reference Manual, but the datasheet does not stated how BQ27Z746 perform pre-charge. 

Do we need extra pre-charge FET control pin for the pre-charge circuit, or it was done but adjusting the existing charging gate voltage?

    Hey WM,

    No you do not need an extra pre-charge FET, the gauge will enable the CHG FET when in pre-charge mode. For the pre-charge feature to work, the gauge needs to be paired with a charger. The gauge will report to the charger, "preform pre-charge mode at this voltage and current", and the charger handles the rest.
