TPS65994AD: How to properly clear DBfg via 4CC CMD in TPS66994 ?

Part Number: TPS65994AD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS66994

Hi AE,

In the TPS66994 spec defined, the address of Port A  is 0x20 and Port B is 0x24.

The DBfg (2D 128bit ) has been successfully cleared, After I sent 4CC CMD (08h) to PD in Port A.

But we found that the DBfg (2D 128bit ) has also been cleared in Port B. ( Under the Picture 3 )

     1. Under different addresses, why the DBfg (2D 128bit ) would be affected ?

     2. How to properly send 4CC CMD ?

     3. Is it possible that this issue may require adjustments to PDFW ?

  • Hello Bruce,
    Thank you for your question.

As per my understanding, 0x2D Boot flag register is common register between Port A and Port B.
Hence, the EC will read same contents of 0x2D when using Port A I2C address or Port B I2C address.

I hope this clarifies all above questions on DBFg behavior.

    Best regards,
    Rohit.
