TPS63700: how to calculate Iavg

in datasheet, there is below formula to calculate Iavg. Just want to know how we get the formula, is the 0.8 the eff ? But if it's eff, why does it need in the formula ? Thanks.

Yes, I think 0.8 means the efficiency in the formula. As you know, the duty cycle could very with the efficiency with same Vin and Vout, so the formula take the eff into consideration. You can find more details about the derivation as below.

if so, there will be eff in molecule. But in the formula, there is no eff in the formula in datasheet. Thanks.

Yes, from theoretically, I think there should be eff in molecule with Vin.
