BQ25750: How the ACFET work

Part Number: BQ25750

Hi experts,

The data sheet only describes below paragraph about the ACFET of BQ25750, but I want to know how it works? How to use one driver ACDRV to turn on two NMOSFETs at the same time? Generally speaking, two drivers control two NMOSFETs respectively. Is there any relevant documentation that can explain it? Customers want to know the principle and process. Many thanks.

  • Hi Kevin, the paragraph you mentioned only describes the selection process for the ACFETs and BATFETs. One drive signal can very easily be used to control 2 MOSFETs. It is very common, same as paralleling the MOSFETs. The same signal controls the gate of both the FETs. Should not be a problem.

  • Hi Gupta,

    Thanks for your help.

The VAC is the power supply of BQ25750. But the BQ25750 can also use the battery to power the system without input. So what is the chip powered by at this time? When the device is powered on for the first time, is it possible to charge independently without MCU operation?

  • Yes that is true, you can only use battery to power the load without input. The chip is powered by the battery at this time. The BQ25750 supports both I2C and standalone operation.
