Hi all,
What will happen if tps65987d receives a valid reset signal?
Will the 987D reload the FW from the spi flash?
Best regards,
Xavier.

Hi Xavier,
Thank you for reaching out!
Could you specify which reset signal? Are you referring to a hard reset issued by the PD controller or a 4CC command to reset the device?
The TPS65987D will reboot its OTP bootloader when a "GAID" command is sent.
Best Regards,
Aya Khedr
Hi Aya,
Thank you for your reply.
I would give a high pulse to 'pin44 hreset' of the tps65987d,this for reset.
Can this operation make tps65987d send a "GAID" command and reload the FW from spi flash once again.
Best Regards,
Xavier.
Hi Xavier,
Due to the holiday, many device experts are currently out of the office. When they return they will look into this and provide a response. Please expect some delay accordingly.
Thanks,
Field
Hi Xavier,
The HRESET pin reinitializes the device settings similar to a warm reset (Gaid) so it would not reload the FW from SPI flash.
Please see the following thread for more information on the resets: https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management---internal/f/power-management---internal-forum/1167055/tps65987d-hard-warm-cold-reset-definitions
