TPS6594-Q1: No output from TPS6594: I2C read all zeros

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1

Hi,

We have 10 new assembled boards out of which 5 are working & 5 are not generating any output on Buck1,2,3,4,5

In all not working boards, we are not able to read any data on I2C. Data is 0x00 at all registers. This issue looks like same as below:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/983114/tps6594-q1-tps6594-i2c-read-all-zeros

Please help to resolve the issue.

LDOVINIT & LDOVRTC voltage is generating.

  • Hi Pankaj,

Due to the holiday, many device experts are currently out of the office. When they return they will look into this and provide a response. Please expect some delay accordingly.

    Thanks,
    Field

  • Hello Prankaj,

What is/are the part numbers you are working with?

How are you reading these registers if the SoC is not powered?

Did you follow Chris's suggestions about:

    (1) Please confirm that the LDOVINT is at 1.8V.

    (2) Confirm that the I2C pullups are available for both PMICs and the pullup voltage is correct.

    (3) Repeat the power cycle but keep the enable pin low on the TPS659413 and confirm if I2C is available.

    BR,

    Nicholas
