Hi team,

In datasheet, it is said that " Vias are optional depending on application, refer to device data sheet. If any vias are implemented".

In what case vias need to be opened?
(For typical usage, do we need to open vias?)

Also, why does device has both SMD and NSMD via?

Hi Goto,

Vias can help on thermal dissipation. So if customer uses it in high temperature or heavy load, vias will be useful.

SW pin is floating and NC, does opening vias for SW PIN contribute to heat dissipation?
Customers are concerned about if this is effective.

It is helpful to transfer heat to another side of PCB.

Hi Shipeng,

SW PIN is need to be floating. However, if make vias, is it to be connected to GND?

Also, do you have any data that quantitatively shows the difference in thermal characteristics with or without via?
