Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM63635-Q1
The functional safety manual on the webpage only includes die failures, not pin-to-pin failure analysis.
Thanks and best regards

Hi Jessica,
thank you for using the E2E forum.
I have attached the Pin FMEA for the LM5176-Q1

Thank you very much for the document - this is very helpful.
I am curious as to why internal shorts to VIN are not included in the analysis. That seems to be included in the other TI FMEA analysis for potential package failures: pins open, pins shorted to adjacent pins, pins shorted to ground, and pins shorted to VIN. Is there a reason the short to VIN does not need to be considered for this IC?
Thanks!
Hi Jessica,
this are included, see row 11 and 14 - or do you ask for something else?
Best regards,
Stefan
Hello Stefan,
For example, the buck regulator LM63635-Q1 includes a table of short circuits between any pin on the IC and VIN:
This seems pretty consistent for all the TI functional safety analyses.
Hi Jessica,
let me check with the expert on FMEA and come back beginning of next week.
Best regards,
Stefan
