BQ34210-Q1: CEDV Fuel Gauge for Rarely Discharged Batteries

Part Number: BQ34210-Q1

Hi,

We are planning to use the fuel gauge BQ34210-Q1 in our new design. We are planning to interface this with BQ24092DGQR to measure the state of charge of LiPo battery. We have found that "CEDV Fuel Gauge
for Rarely Discharged Batteries" in the datasheet. Could you please explain what does this mean?

  • Hello,

This gauge is used for 1-series cell batteries in applications that encounter very infrequent discharges. This section that you have quoted means exactly that. This gauge is used for applications where the battery is rarely discharged. This is typical for battery backup systems.

    Regards,

    Jonny.
