BQ25798: how to turn it OFF without using I2C

Part Number: BQ25798
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-050047

Dear Technical support team.

I'm using TPS25750DRJKR with BQ25798RQMR battery charger. Reference to TIDA-050047.

Per BQ25798RQMR datasheet's the host can put it in shut down by register bits SDRV_CTRL[1:0].

However, the I2C HOST is TPS25750DRJKR and connects to EEPROM and BQ25798RQMR.

I'm using TI GUI to pre-configure PD and charging, it works great, but I need to turn off BQ25798RQMR (if there is an issue with the battery).

Please let me know, how this can be done if I2C is not available for microcontroller (can't have two HOSTs).

Can I turn off/on BQ25798RQMR with I/O pins?

Thank you,

Danny.
