BQ40Z50: BTP_INT output logic driving

Thank you! The answer Kang provided says he believes that this output is pulled up to VBAT, could you confirm that this is the case?

We are putting this as an input to a buffer and the buffer itself will have a maximum input voltage so need to make sure it's not exceeded.

Hi Austin,

Sorry for the confusion, I have spoken to our hardware team regarding this issue.

They believe that the maximum pull up for this type of pin should be around 6V, not VBAT.

Can you explain a bit more on how this pin works?

Are you saying even with an external pull down to sink at least 10uA, the maximum can still be up to 6V?

Or is 6V the max if there is nothing external to sink current

I was able to pass this question along to the hardware team. They believe that with the external pulldown to sink to at least 10uA, the maximum voltage of this pin can still be near 6V. They also stated that until the pull-up current of the pin is reached, the output voltage should not drop much.

Thanks for this, we have a follow-up question:

6V is higher than any standard logic level. Even with an LVC family buffer, that only goes up to 5.5V.

I’m curious how this interrupt was meant to be used in systems. Do you put a FET in front of it and level translate that way?
