TL431: VKA test condition

Part Number: TL431

Could you please tell me what the test conditions are for the electrical characteristics of ZKA in the datasheet, where VKA = Vref, f ≤ 1 kHz, and IKA = 1 mA to 100 mA? In the datasheet, the most stringent test condition is that the center value of IKA is 1 mA. What is the amplitude of the current fluctuation? If the amplitude is 1 mA, then IKA < Imin, and it cannot operate normally, right?

What are the specific test conditions in the manual?

Is the center value of IKA (1 mA + 100 mA) / 2 = 50.5 mA?"

  • Hi Erhuan,

IKA(min) = 1mA, as long as you are at or above this IKA you satisfy current requirements for proper device operation. In the dynamic impedance test, Figure 8-1 circuit is used. The IKA is varied from 1mA to 100mA and VKA datapoints are collected at the varying IKA test increments, as seen in Figure 8-4. There is no case in this test in which the IKA is brought below 1mA.

    Thanks,
    Joshua
