TPS6594-Q1: Re-programming steps

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1

Dear Team,

I'm using TPS65941515RWERQ1 pre-programmed PMIC in my design, but need some slight modification in its program. I need VCCA_PG_SET to be changed to 5V, So I've followed the below steps:

1. Using TPS6594 Socket EVM, downloaded configuration from TPS65941515RWERQ1 PMIC in .bin format
2. Then changed the register 0x002c = 0x7f
3. Then re-programmed the PMIC with updated .bin file

But after following the above steps, next time while comparing the re-programmed PMIC with updated .bin file it is showing EEPROM locked. Please confirm if the above steps followed are correct. Also how to unlock the EEPROM to Compare.

Regards,
Kaushal

  • Hello Kaushal,

So with the change of the PGOOD on the VCCA to 5V, I know it may sound silly, but have you changed the jumper on the right hand side from 3V3 to VSYS

Set to: 5V0 to VSYS or if using a power supply other than the USB power, apply 5V on the VSYS.

Mind you that setting your VCCA to 5V you'll need to have a new power supply for the 3V3 on the VIO_IN pin as our recommendation is at max ~3V4,

    As shown here:

Yes Nicholas, changed jumper to 5V0 to VSYS and also VIO_IN is supplied with 3V3, still its locked

  • Kaushal,

replied to your email, please check if that fixes the problem.

Will update here in case of resolution in email.
