BQ40Z50-R2: How to deactivate Primary (1st Level) Safety protection

Expert 4630 points
Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2

Dear e2e Support,

During specific use cases in his end application, my customer would need to deactivate dynamically some Primary Safety protections such as the Cell Undervoltage Protection.

Are there some registers we could use or any trick we could use, for such particular case?

Regards,

  • Hey TISL,

You are able to disable all the firmware based protections. This is found in data memory, and in the settings tab, there is Enabled Protections A, B, C, and D. You can disable all the protections in those registers. For the hardware based protections, you can set very high thresholds so the hardware based protections don't trigger (there is no feature to disable hardware protections). Section 2.7 of the TRM discusses hardware protections.

    Regards,
