Hello Team,
We use LM5156 to design a boost circuit, Input: 8.8V, Output: 12V/4A.
But now the inductor and MOSFET is too hot. What should we do to improve this circuit?
Thanks!

Hello,
Thanks for using the e2e forum.
I do not directly see any problems within the schematic.
Here are some check I would recommend to do:
- Have you double checked the values inductance, compensation and sense resistance with our quickstart calculator tool? If not, you can find the tool here:
https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SNVC224
- Can inductor support the maximum current levels without falling into saturation?
- How does the SW signal look like? If you see large overshoots or oscillation on the voltage signal, populating a snubber may improve the behavior
- If all previous points do not show any problems, we need to look into the layout next.
Best regards,
Niklas
