Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100, GPCCHEM
Hello, Im planning on using the BQ34Z100 fuel gauge in a new system design. I currently have a BZ34Z100EVM board that I have been able to update the software and have everything working. Voltage and current are calibrated and look good so I can start logging data to get proper checm.. Do I need battery temp info in the log file to get proper Chem?
I'm also a little unclear on the LED configuration of the EVM and future design plan. We want a 4 led gauge and thought it was doable with the onboard EVM LED's. I'm using the 12C interface with an EVM2400 programmer. I have not been able to get 4 LED's LED A-D to activate. only LEDA and LEDB. Seems as though LEDc and LEDd flash very dimly whenever the EVM is accessed via BQ Studio. It seems as thought these four LED's should be able to be configured as a 4LED gauge. LEDA >= to 25%, LEDA&B >=50%... Is this possible or do I need to use an external LED for this method? OR will this not work until I have Proper Chem and a learning cycle in?
I also have a schematic completed and would like to have TI look it over prior to having CAD completed. Due to it being a proprietary design would need to be done outside of the forum.
Thanks in advance for all the help.
Regards,
