TPS40200: Unencrypted SPICE model needed for TPS40200

Part Number: TPS40200

I need an unencrypted SPICE model for the TPS40200 that is correct and that I can pull into LTSpice. Although there is "TPS40200 Unencrypted PSpice Average Model Package (Rev. E) - SLVJ006E.ZIP - ", it doesn't appear to have the right number of pins. Is there a solution?

  • Hi Steve,

I am sorry, but our models are not intended for LTSpice. They are designed for cadence-based PSpice like PSpice for TI.

There can be expected issues when importing.

Maybe I can suggest an alternative analysis method if PSpice for TI is not an option for you. What are you looking to do?

  • We're looking to simulate the behaviour open and short circuit of several passive components in the circuit and monitor the current consumption of the entire circuit under these conditions. If the unencrypted model link in this thread was accurate of the device, it would likely be acceptable but that model does seem to accurately represent the device and is lacking a few pins of the device. Is there no way that TI can simply provide an unencrypted model of the standard PSPICE package directly to me (we're under NDA with TI today). Having a functional model would save a lot of engineering time and effort.

  • Hi Steve,

You are right that all pins were not modeled.

For what you are doing, I would be hesitant to rely on any model to monitor current consumption. I can advise you on how the device control loop will behave with OC/SS conditions.

I am sorry, but for current consumption measurement, I would advise you utilizing the evaluation module to do so.
