TPS922052: Does TPS922052DMTR support strobe signal of 30 Hz?

Part Number: TPS922052
Hi Team,

Greetings!
I have a query regarding the part TPS922052DMTR.
Our application is to switch ON/OFF  an IR LED used for camera flash using a PWM signal as shown below. We are planning to feed the strobe signal from the image sensor to the EN/PWM pin of the device for this; not to the ADIM Pin.

Is this possible with this device (30Hz)? I have also found in the datasheet ,  PWM input minimum off time to disable device is 57 mS,what does that actually mean?will that restrict the PWM frequency to completely off the LED?
With best regards,
Adarsh M.
  • Hi Adarsh,

TPS922052 can do the 30Hz switching-on/off as you stated above.

For the t_PWM_IN_OFF parameter shown in Section 7.5 Electrical Characteristics from the datasheet (A screen capture is shown below), it means that when you hold the EN/PWM pin low for a period longer than t_PWM_IN_OFF, the device will be disabled. This will limit the maximum switching-off time if you do not want to disable the device.

    Best Regards,

    Steven
