Dear Sirs and Madams,
We are considering connecting TUSB1046 and TPS65987.
I understand that TUSB1046 is capable of switching between GPIO and I2C modes.
In the "10G-EXPANSION-EVM" and "TPS65987EVM" configurations, both GPIO and I2C are connected, but is it okay to connect only in GPIO mode?
< 10G-EXPANSION-EVM schematic > < TPS65987EVM schematic >
We are thinking of using the TPS65987 I2C as follows :
I2C1 : Slave, Read back of "TPS659xx Application Customization Tool"
I2C2 : Slave (Only), Unused
I2C3 : Master (Only), TPS55288 control
So, to control the TUSB1046, We are thinking of using GPIO mode using GPIO of TPS65987, rather than I2C of TPS65987.
Please let us know if there are any problems or the best configuration.
Regards,
MM

Yes, you can use TUSB1046 in GPIO mode only.
I will let the PD team to comment on your other questions.
Thanks

David-san,
Thank you for your answer.
I was relieved to hear that there was no difference between I2C mode and GPIO mode.
Regards,
MM
