LM5036: Power management forum

Part Number: LM5036
  • LM5036: PMP40500 54-VDC input, 12-V 42-A output half-bridge reference design

We made this DC to DC converter based on the TI reference design. Initially, upon powering up, the output is 12V. However, when loaded with 500mA, it drops to 0V. How can I rectify this issue? Please advise me on how to solve it.

  • Hi,

Since your converter is regulating at no load but drops out at light load, you should investigate closely if VCC is remaining active, VCC>VSD, CS<0.75V, check ON/OFF control, measure COMP and make sure the opto is biased correctly according to the dynamic range you are trying to achieve.

    Regards,
