Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27531, UCC27614, UC1708-SP, UC1705-SP, UC1709-SP
Hi Team,
Can I use UC1706 for designing Buck-Boost converter. Is there a reference design with UC1706
Thanks&Regards

Hi Kishan,
What are the specifications on your buck-boost converter? The UC1706 is an older part with 40V VDD rating, but it does have longer switching times. Our UCC27614 (30V, 10A) and UCC27531 (35V, 2.5A/5A) are our newer devices that may better fit your need. Please keep in mind that you will have to configure these to be used as a high-side driver, which can be done by using the methods in this FAQ. Alternatively, a half-bridge driver can be used if you opt for a synchronous buck-boost design.
Thanks,

Hi Rubas,
Thank you for suggesting the Alternative part.
1. can you please suggest equivalent of UCC2614 / UCC2531 in enhanced plastic or in space grade for low earth orbit application
Thanks & Regards
Kishan
Hi Kishan,
Unfortunately, our only low-side gate drivers that are space grade are the older UC170x family that you previously mentioned. The UC1705-SP is our 40V, 1.5A, 1ch low-side driver, and the UC1709-SP is the 2ch variant. The UC1708-SP is our 35V, 3A, 1ch low-side driver that features faster switching times. If you are opting for a synchronous buck-boost design and are considering GaN, then we have the TPS7H60x3-SP series that are GaN half-bridge drivers.
If you would like, I could potentially help you further in private messages. I sent you a friend request.
Thanks,
Rubas
