TPS389006-Q1: TPS389006004RTERQ1 -Fusion Digital power Device Gui only 4 Channels Displayed and detected as TPS389006

Part Number: TPS389006-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS389006

Hi,

the Fusion Digital power Device Gui detects the  TPS389006 as TPS389004 and therefore only 4 Channels are displayed.

Is there a new software version available which supports 6 channels.

The issue is even visible in the manual of the eval board (p.23):

Kind regards

Moritz

  • Hello Moritz,

We are aware of this is issue and are working with our software team to resolve this issue. Unfortunately this update will take quite a bit of time, for this reason we are asking that users program the device at a single register level. To preform a single register read or right the user can utilize the I2C tool under the Tools tab.

Using the I2C interface the user can perform single bite read and write. I think it would be best if I was to give an example, is there anything in particular you are trying to program? I can specify steps based on the need.

  • Hi Oscar,

    thank you for the update.

Unfortunately, I was planning to use the TI GUI-Tool as first system test to check if all the voltages are to spec before the main controller is flashed.

It is kind of bad, since there is no mention of this in the AppNote SNVU785B.

Can you share any timeline when the program might be updated ?

    Kind regards

    Moritz

  • Hello Moritz,

Unfortunately the GUI is not planned to be released until early Q4 2024. If you would like more clarification on single register read and write I would be happy to assist.
