BQ40Z50-R2: BTP_INT output values

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z80

Hello,

Could I get some clarification on the voltages output by the BTP_INT pin?

Would it be safe to directly connect this pin to a 3.3V microcontroller? Or will I need to implement some sort of resistor divider?

Thanks for your help,

Nate

  • Hi Nate,

I believe that when this pin is in use, the output voltage is pulled right above the minimum voltage (either 3.5V or 1.8V). If the 3.5V setting is being used and the microcontroller is 3.3V max, I would recommend implementing some sort of resistor divider to make sure it does not exceed the 3.3V.

  • Thank you,

It would be good to know for sure, but I can proceed and test it later.

Unfortunately, I cannot test this until I order our custom PCB. The development board we do have is for the BQ40Z80, which does not have this feature.

Ill mark this question as resolved once I test it.

  • Hi Nate,

Understood, please let us know if there are any remaining questions after testing.
