TPSM365R3: Operating Frequency Selection

Part Number: TPSM365R3

Hello All,

I am operating (TPSM365R3RDNR) the device for 3.3V @0.03A for Industrial application. For a reason of high efficiency i have chosen 250KHz as operating frequency based on webench simulation.

Is it okey to run at lower frequency, Any possibility of getting malfunctions during Realtime operating on PCB? Pls advice.

Regards

Dharma

  • Hi Dharma,

    Can you provide me:

    VIN = ?

    VOUT = 3.3V

    IOUT = 30mA

    FSW = 250kHz

    Ben

  • Hi Dharma,

    Are there any updates? If you can please provide what is VIN in your application. Thank you,

    Ben

  • Hello Ben,

    Here is the details, VIN = 48V

    VOUT = 3.3V

    IOUT = 30mA

    FSW = 250kHz

    Thanks,

    Dharma

  • Hi Dharma,

    Thank you for providing the input voltage. Based on the information from the table, you will need to run at a higher frequency to avoid current limit. Our WEBENCH tool can help you with your design. Below is the link for the WEBENCH.

    To your question, because of the system parameters you have stated above, the part will be in current limit and the output voltage will not be regulated to 3.3V with your conditions. You will need to run at a higher frequency to avoid hitting the current limit.

    I hope I have answered your question.
