BQ27Z561-R2: BQ27Z561-R2 ground TS Input

Part Number: BQ27Z561-R2

I'm looking to reduce complexity of my PCB stack-up. I would like to ground TS to allow me to get to the internal VSS pin next to it. Else I'm forced to use a blind micro via on the ground pad. I'm assuming this is OK as long as I don't enable the TS measurement.

  • Hello Thomas,

The Impedance Track Algorithm is highly dependent on temperature, so if you are not using an external thermistor to read the temperature of the pack, then it is possible that you could see a decrease in gauging accuracy. If you are willing to accept a decrease in accuracy, then you could do this.

    Jonny.
