BQ28Z620: BQ28Z620 AFE protection tolerance

Part Number: BQ28Z620

Hi Team,

Do you know what is the tolerance of AFE protection? For example, when user set 0x01, what is the max and min value around -22.16mV?

  • Hello Kailun,

This specific value is not spec'd in the Datasheet for the gauge. What happens here is as soon as the gauge detects a voltage across the sense resistor greater than AOLD  Threshold[3:0], then the gauge will detect AOLD and it will trip it if this one is continuous for the programmed delay time. The Quickest this is going to happen is around 1mS.

    Regards,

    Jonny.

  • Thanks Jonny,

I understand the function of AOLD. What customer want to know is the tolerance of threshold, can you guarantee that the detect point and delay time is exactly -22.16mV or 1ms when user set this value? You could email to me if this info is confidential in public forum, thanks!

  • Hello Kailun,

It cannot be guaranteed that it will trip exactly at -22.16mV, please refer to the following image from the datasheet.

    Regards,

    Jonny.
