TPS2640: Current limit setting for driving a buck regulator

Hello,

When driving a buck regulator, what would be an appropriate level to set the current limit at?  I presume the regulator could draw large spikes of current at times that would be above the steady-state DC current.  I'm thinking I will need to determine what the maximum current would be, and set the limit above that so that it doesn't limit it.  Is that correct?  Would the max current be specified as the peak current limits in the buck regulator specification?

Thanks and regards,

Greg
