Costant current switching regulator with Bq2002F

Hi.

I developed a battery chargers for 4 NiMh with BQ2002F (I saw and copied from the DV2002L2/T2 Dev. Kit) 

It works perfectly. No problem.

But the Linear Regulator is very hot, so I'm thinking to replace with a costant current switching regulator.

But the ripple that it introduces could affect the Bq2002F that works with "deltaV termination"?

Have you some experience?

Is a solution that not recommanded?
