UCC5350: About the constants used in the UCC28782 calculation tool

Part Number: UCC5350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28782, LMG3622, LMG3616,

Hello,

I am considering the following products for GaNFET and gate driver to be used with UCC28782.
LMG3616,LMG3622,UCC5350SB
I am in the process of setting constants in the attached calculation tool, but there are some points that are unclear.
Please let me know your opinion on what numerical values should be entered in the blank spaces in the figure below.
Also, are the numbers entered correct?

Best regards,

  • Hi Kaji,

The tpLH and tpHL are both 60ns. It sounds like this tool is referring to the time it takes for the gate to charge from 0V to the threshold voltage with the UCC5350. This depends on the Ciss of the gate, the gate driver power supply voltage, and the series resistance into the FET gate.

There is not an integrated boot diode in the UCC5350. You can add one externally and use its properties to fill in this table. For example, the US2JDF has a forward voltage of about 1V at 25C, and it has a junction capacitance of 10pF.

The output supply quiescent current is only 1.1mA.

    Best regards,

    Sean
