400V Step-up

Hi all,

I need to do a design with those specs:

Vin: 48Vdc

Vo:400Vdc

Io:.0.5 Amps

I don't know which could be the best topology, nor the IC, any suggestion will be highly appreciated!

Thanks and regards,

Xavi

  • Hi Xavier,

I see that this is listed under isolated supplies.Do you absolutely have to have the input isolated from the output?

I ask this because the solution for a non-isolated solution is trivial in comparison with an isolated solution.

Please respond to this and we can take it from there.           Neil F. Pattison.

  • Hi Neil,

Actually it's not necessary, I firstly posted this message to the non-isolatde, but it was moved to here.

Is there any solution for non-isolated at 400V?

    Regards,

    Xavi

  • Hi Xavier,

One non-isolated solution is to use a "LINEAR TECHNOLOGY" LTC3862-1 polyphase boost controller feeding a pair of 600 volt fets with 600 volt SiC diodes isolating the 400 volt output. This is what I would use if I needed to implement your requirement.Their datasheet shows a suitable circuit, you will just have to modify a few components.I can offer further assistance if you need it.

Unfortunately,TI do not appear to have a suitable polyphase boost controller which will do the job.

    Regards,               Neil F. Pattison.
