I am currently running into an issue where I have paralleled N-ch FET's on the HGATE of the LM7481. The issue is that when driving larger loads (~60-70A), the HGATE pin does not provide enough current to switch the FET without staying outside of the FET SOA, leading to either excessive heating while its in its linear region, thermal runaway, or total destruction of the FET. I found two articles explaining that you can increase the 55uA drive capability of the HGATE pin to ~600uA, simply by adding a transistor, resistor and diode arrangement from the CAP pin to the FET as seen in the image below.
I was curious on any tips/design references/application notes...etc., for that implementation that you have that would help with calculating, simulating, component selection...etc.?
