BQ25792: VSYS too high when battery full & not charging

Part Number: BQ25792
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25798

Hello al

I'm evaluating the BQ25792 and noticed something a bit annoying.

The BQ25792 regulates Vsys to be 200mV (PWM) or 600mV (PFM) above Vbat - when battery charging is disabled (not like old TI chargers that I familiar with)

In my design, I use Vsys to power a 5V boost converter:

I a state where the Vsys is almost no loaded (PFM mode), Vsys could reach 4.8-4.9V.

The TPS61235 boost converter that I use, requires Vin to be Vout-0.6V at max.

I guess that when the boost converter is enabled, that current draw will cause the BQ25798 to exit PFM mode and lower Vsys to a much safer Vin, but the boost converter output load wont draw 400mA at t=0

Bottom line, I fear that the boost converter will have trouble to startup at this condition.

Any suggestion how can I solve this?

(Replacing the TPS61235 to a different model is an option)

Thanks!
