Hi
Can I confirm with you that when using the LM79L05ACM, if the input power supply is +5V, the output is -5V?

Hey Gareth,
LM79L regulates a negative input voltage to a negative output voltage with a lower absolute value.
In the case of LM79L05ACM, your input voltage must be greater than or equal to Output Voltage (-5V) + Dropout Voltage (-1.7V), or between -30V and -6.7V input for this device to properly regulate -5V.

Erin
