Kindly help me below issues:

1. In calibration menu, what is function of "CC OOST CALIBARATION", "PACK VOLTAGE CALIBRATION" & "SOFTWARE BOARD OFFSET CALIBRATION".

2. Many of my board were working properly & were communicating with mu PC via EV2300. I wrote data in DATA FLASH, done CC OFFSET & VOLTAGE CALIBRATION, but suddenly after clicking on PACK VOLTAGE CALIBRATION, there some error appears about NO ACK, & my board stops reading. Kindly explain what could be the possible fault.

    1) CC offset calibrates out the offset in the coulomb counter. If you don't do this, current will not report 0mA when no load is connected. Pack Voltage calibration calibrates the voltage at the Pack pin of the IC. This calibration is normally not done, since the voltage at that pin doesn't need to be very accurate.  Board Offset calibration calibrates out the offset that exists in the board components, connectors, vias, traces, etc (everything except the IC).

    2) I'm not sure what would cause the NACK, but that typically means the IC got damaged.

The correct way to calibrate the PACK voltage is to do Voltage Calibration first, then connect a charger >8V to the PACK+ pin before calibrating. PACK voltage calibration is usually not needed, though.

  • Is it necessary to short BAT- & PACK- during CC offset cal.

  • There is no need to short BAT- & PACK- for CC offset. Just make sure there is no current flow in the system.
