Dear Sirs and Madams,
The BQ25723 data sheet explains FRS, but states that you need to contact the factory for detailed information.
Is it possible for you to provide us with more detailed information about FRS?
Regards,
MM

Hi MM,
Thanks for using BQ25723. It looks we need to generate more collateral on this topic.
Could you tell us a little more about your user case? I will see if it is related to the FRS feature.
Regards,
Tiger
Hello Tiger,
A customer is considering using the BQ25723 as a backup power source for a system of consumer device.
We understand that FRS is a function that allows you to quickly switch between sink and source, and we hope that it can be used in this system.
Is there more information we have to provide?
Regards,
MM
HI MM,
Figure 10-20 shows a FRS transition waveform. It is very quick in transition in the range of tens of microseconds. I would suggest you ordering a BQ25723EVM and try out its FRS function.
Regards,
Tiger
Hello Tiger,
We have already checked the waveforms in Figure 10-20 of the datasheet.
We also understood that I need to use EVM to check the behavior.
However, what does "Please contact factory for more detail information about FRS mode" written in the data sheet mean?
Regards,
MM
Tiger-san,
It make sense.
Please let us know if there are any updates about FRS.
We would like to confirm the functions of FRS.
(a) Does “CH2:FRS pin” in Figure 10-20 indicate OTG/VAP/FRS of Pin 5 ?
(b) Is the following procedure correct to use FRS?
1. Set the registers as described in the pin description.
”When OTG_VAP_MODE=1b and EN_FRS=1b, pulling high this pin can enable FRS mode in forward operation.”
2. Set OTGVoltage to the desired output voltage.
3. Detects VBUS power loss externally and asserts OTG/VAP/FRS(Pin 5) from 'L' to 'H'.
Regards,
MM
