BQ25185: Charing 4.1V battery using VBATREG-4.1V

Part Number: BQ25185

Dear Team,

My customer used BQ25185 comparing with 4.2V battery. In order to avoid over-charge for battery and customer set the VBATREG in 4.1V.

We have two questions:

1. Charge could be norlmal base on this situation?

2. When enter the CV mode . The Ichg could not approach Iterm for this battery's rated voltage is 4.2V.

How the charge terminate base on this situation? safety timer expired?

  • Hi,

It appears this thread was missed,

can you please clarify what is meant by normal base?

When in CV mode, the device ICHG should be reduced as the battery charges to 4.1V. What is the charge current that you saw it reduced to?

    safety timer expired?

This can happen only after 6 hours of charging.

    Best Regards,

    Juan Ospina
