LM5143: LM5143 in CCM mode means the fets switch at the switching frequency all the time?

Part Number: LM5143

Hi,

If i set CCM rather than Burst mode with the DEMB pin, (DEMB to VDDA)  then does that mean that when the LM5143 is no loaded, then the fets switch all the time, and the inductor current just oscillates

back and forward all the time? (thats what we actually want)

  • Hi Andrew,

Yes, that's correct. The mode is FPWM (forced PWM). The inductor current at no load will be a triangular waveform with a DC value of zero, positive peak and negative valley. The regulator will operate at constant Fsw.
