LM5045: LM5045 lost duty cycle when lighting test

Part Number: LM5045

Hello,

In our design, LM5045 is used as the control chip of the full-bridge topology . In the lightning test , we found that the LM5045 will lost duty cycle. If a 47pf capacitor is connected in parallel to the RT resistor, this problem will be solved. We would like to know is there any risk for this solution. Thanks in advanced.

  • Adding a 47pF in parallel with RT should be no issue. I would recommend to make the capacitor smaller if possible. Observe the effect of the PWM output frequency with/without adding the parallel capacitor and then observe the effect of adding a large capacitor value. My concern is the is the RC time constant becomes too large the internal clock edges will be delayed or distorted.

    Regards,
