TPS51206: TPS51206 : DDR1 Support

Part Number: TPS51206
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51200,

Hello,

Our customer is asking that TPS51206 can be used for DDR1 since there is no description with regard to 2.5V VTT supply for DDR1 in the datasheet whereas datashhet of TPS51200 does.  Can you please clarify?

Best regards,

Kojima

  • Hi Kojima,

The recommended input and output ranges shown in the TPS51206 datasheet should support DDR1 voltages:

The TPS51206 isn't listed as one of our devices supporting DDR1 according to the below table from the DDR VTT Power Solutions: A Competitive Analysis (Rev. A) application note. However, the input ranges of the device allow for 2.5V input to VLDOIN and VDDQSNS (3.5V max) and VTT should follow 1/2*VDDQSNS.

We also have other DDR1 options as well. The advantage of the TPS51200 is the 3A capability. I would recommend the TPS51200 if you have a choice.

    Regards,

    James
