LM74930-Q1: Input peaks up to 100V

Part Number: LM74930-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74930,

Hi!

I want to use LM74930 as ideal diode from PS normally up to 60V.

There may be peaks up to 100V

1. Is LM74930 suitable for this application?

2. If I use LM74930 with load dump feature, will it protect output for at least 80V max if done properly?

I mean can I put 80V logic after this switch or I should anyway stay with 100V rated electronics?

Stas

  • Hi Stas,

LM74930-Q1 has a load dump configuration which uses a strong blocking FET that >60V to pass through since device is rated for 60V. You can use 80V also, but it is better to have some margins in the design at least in prototypes if not in final design.
