Hi Jeff,

I am working on integrating BQ25798 in one of my device as a charger for a battery. I have tested and verified the working of BQ25798EVM hands on. I have a question regarding checking the Battery Health Percentage on the BQ25798EVM. Is there a way to either check it via bqStudio or some other way to check the battery health % of the battery connected to it? I want to make sure whether the BQ25798 charger can tell us about the battery health when working under normal condition or not. I will really appreciate a reply. Thank you! Slight smile

    Hi Pushpendra,

    The charger does not have memory and so cannot perform gas gauge functions like battery health.  It has an ADC that can provide instantaneous measurements of current and voltage which a host processor could use to compute a simple battery health metric.  I recommend adding a TI gas gauge for improved accuracy.
