TPS5430: TPS5430+TPS55340

Part Number: TPS5430
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS55340,

TPS55340+TPS5430.pdf_bin

Hi team, my customer want to evaluate TPS55340+TPS5430, Could you help to review the SCH?

  • Hi Jingguo,

For TPS5430, connect Some VIN capacitor to global ground and connect some to device ground (-VOUT).

For Vsns, connect it like FB is connected in the diagram below.

For TPS55340, I'll let an expert from the other team comment.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • Hi, Andrew

My customer want to output from -1.5V to -18V through TPS5430, They use 24V input, the max voltage difference is 42V, exceeding our spec 36V. Will this bring risk? and can they use 12V vin in this circuit?

and TPS55340, will I get comments from email? or e2e?

    BR

  • Hi Jingguo,

the TPS55340 also looks OK from my side but you might set the cross over frequency a little bit higher for the compensation.

    Best regards,

     Stefan

  • Hi Jingguo,

Yes I would not exceed the 36V recommended voltage if possible. The abs max of the device is 40V, so maybe if VIN goes to 22V, it could be ok sometimes. But, often times there's switch node spikes on inverting buck boost circuits that can exceed our parts voltage ratings, so tread carefully here.

For the feedback resistor, make sure it loos like this:

    Thanks,

    Andrew
