BQ27Z561-R2: Learning Cycle Query

Part Number: BQ27Z561-R2

Hello TI Team,

I have below queries regarding learning cycle before saving/extracting golden images from Bq Studio.

  1. After completing learning cycle, is it necessary to set Update Status in Data Memory to 0x02 from 0x06 manually as mentioned in "Achieving The Successful Learning Cycle" document ?

2. Also do we need to clear/disable GAUGE_ENABLE bit?

Regards,

Shivani Patel

  • Hey Shivani,

It is not required to disable the gauge before saving the golden file. However, this is what we recommend.

    Regards,

    Nick Richards

  • Hi Nick,

    Thanks for the response.

Can you please answer the below quetion whcih I have asked 1st?

    1. After completing learning cycle, is it necessary to set Update Status in Data Memory to 0x02 from 0x06 manually as mentioned in "Achieving The Successful Learning Cycle" document ?

    Regards,

    Shivani Patel

  • Hey Shivani,

Sorry I should have explicitly stated that my response was answering both of your questions. If Update status is 0x06, when you disable gauging update status changes from 0x06 to 0x02. You don't have to manually change the bit, you can just send the gauge enable command.

    Regards,

    Nick Richards
